Max Defourny was arriving in Monaco for his first time in Monaco Grand Prix this WE and this is incredible to be able to drive on the street circuit for a driver at this age, Max as all the other drivers discovered the track during free practice and was always between P1 and P3. On Saturday morning it was the time to go out for Qualifying and this was really a big fight between 5-6 drivers while Lando Norris lead the way for 85% of the session doing Pole position, Max could not improved on his last 2 laps due to a yellow flag at turn 1. After scrutineering, Lando Norris was disqualified from all his laps and therefore Sacha Fenestraz took Pole position and Max was second on the front row after a penalty to Ferdinand Habsburg.
On Sunday morning the weather was completely different as it was raining a lot and the start of the race was under safety car, after 2 laps the race started and Max was overtaken by Ferdinand, he did not try to block as he needed to do a safe race and take big points to catch the gap between him and Lando at the championship as he was starting last. After 19 minutes of race there was an accident involving 4 cars at turn 1 and the red flag was deployed and the race did not restart so the position were Fenestraz Habsburg Defourny and Max was on the podium for his first Monaco race, "what a feeling he said after the podium, i wanted to take a maximum of points to catch Lando at the championship but unfortunatly as the race did not do 75% we have only 50% of the points that means that i am not taking the lead but saty at the 2 nd place, still a very good we as i take back 7.5 points toi Lando"

5th Place for Max Defourny at Silverstone
Max Defourny started the second race here at Silverstone from the second row and after lat 2 he did the lap record, blocked by Dorian he had a big OS at the end of Beckets and Jehan was very close and Max could not block him so Jehan overtook me, after that Lando did 1,1 tenth quicker than me but he got New tires as he did not race the day before. I was blocked behind Jehan and could not pass him so finished 5th and came back 2nd at the championship with a good WE with big points after a disaster first race at Monza. Next Race is Monaco F1 for the 2nd round of the Eurocup.

Victory in Race 1 for Max Defourny at Silverstone
Max Defourny was sitting on Pole position at Silverstone for the first race of the WE and after a good start he had a lead of almost 1 sec after the first lap increasing the gap every laps, he did the best lap on lap 2 and finished the race with 4.7" ahead of Dorian Boccolacci and 5 sec off Will Palmer, thanks to @ART_Junior_team for this win
Max Defourny has done Pole Position in Q1 at Silverstone (NEC2) 2 tenths in front of Lando Norris, for Q2 everything was going to be at least front row but Max did a small mistake in sector 2 while he improved his best in sector 1 and 3, he finishes 4th for Race 2 and now time to concentrate on Race 1 tomorrow
1 Pole and 1 Victory for Max Defourny at the first round of the NEC season
Max Defourny arrived confident at the first round of the NEC Formula Renault Championship which is the same competitive level as the Eurocup this year as all the drivers are doing double program so that is with L Norris, J Daruvala and D Boccolacci that the first free practice session started on friday morning, Max was fastest in both free practice improving his time from 1'49"552 to 1'48"920, this was very good for Max's confidence for the Qualifying sessions in the afternoon. Maw Defourny had a dispapointing first quali as he could not find the good toe and therefore finished at the 5th place but for the second session he finaly found a good toe after th erestart with 4 minutes left in the session and improved his time to get Pole Position for Race 2.
Max Defourny took a good start and kept his 5th position after firs lap, lap 2 he overtook Troyski to be 4th and at the biginning of lap 3 he passed Lando Norris at the break of turn 1 to be 3rd, than he started to get gears selecting problems and lost 2 places before turn 2 and after 2 laps he could not change gears anymore and was locked in first gear, he had than to pit and they found that the gear bold selector was gone, it took them 2 laps to repair and Max went back on track to see if if everything was ok but he was 19th at 2 laps behind the leaders.
Max took a very good start and was able to pull a nice gap after turn 1, than he just pulled away and control the race till the end to finish with an impressive 4 sec lead.
With this unfortune mechanical problem in race 1 Max is 5th at the championship and now has just to keep pushing at the second round at Silverstone in 2 weeks
2016 Eurocup1 Motorland
2 Poles and 1 Victory for Max Defourny at the first round of the Eurocup season.
Max Defourny has taken some big points here in Motorland for the 1st round of the Eurocup, directly competitive in the 2FP Max has set up the pace, On the next morning He was in group B and he took the 2 pole position for the first 2 races, on the first race he took a very good start and just pulled away from L Norris to finish with 1.847 sec.
For the second race Max suffered from temp in the tires and lost the lead from first corner, so L Norris took the lead followed by Defourny, Boccolacci and Scott. Max was very quickly overtaken by Boccolacci and a few laps later after locking the front tirs at the airpin.
For the last race of the WE Maw Defourny had made the pole of his group but the other group was quicker so he took the start behind L Norris, after 6 laps he was able to catch Norris and tried to overtake 2 times but could not do it, he lost than 1 sec and could not come back before the chequered flag to finish 2nd 1.274 sec away from Norris. Overall a good WE and now time to concentrate on Monza first NEC.
Max Defourny performed another feat in the Northern European Cup for Formula Renault 2.0. Already a winner in July at Spa-Francorchamps, the young Belgian driver was on the top step of the podium again at the famous Nürburgring, with the fastest lap of the event and the circuit record in the category! In addition to consolidating his status as the top rookie of the "NEC", he is in a flattering place in the provisional classification of the Championship.
The sixth and penultimate round of the Northern European Cup took place on 18th, 19th and 20th September at the Nürburgring. At this temple of German motorsport, Max Defourny impressed again with his adaptability and speed. This was confirmed in the qualifying sessions, which are very important to aim for a good result. "I was confident after the fastest time in six out of seven of the free practice sessions on Thursday. In the first qualifying, I was in fact in the lead, but an incident interrupted the session with the red flag. After the restart, three drivers improved and I slipped into 4th position, then even to 7th because of a penalty following an electrical problem in free practice. In addition, after a clash between two drivers at the start of Race 1 I was forced to take the outside line and I ended up 12th on the first lap. Under these conditions, I was happy to move up to 6th overall and 2nd rookie, while showing I was fast during the race."
Best rookie at the end of race
After an encouraging 5th time in the second qualifying session just two tenths from pole position, he managed a good start in Race 2 and was easily on the pace of the favourites. He overtook two drivers and continued to attack. Max definitely had his car well in hand. Suddenly, something happened between the top two, who went off track. "I was ambushed and I was able to narrowly take advantage. Once in the lead, I pushed to the maximum. The gap widened as the laps went on and I could finally impose myself by about three seconds, managing my lead late in the race, with the fastest lap. Barely two months after Spa it is a great pleasure to win again. The ART Junior Team has done an excellent job. We managed to find optimum set-up."
Ensconced in 4th place of the Northern European Cup and especially the 1st placed rookie, Max Defourny's objective is to maintain this position in the final in 2015 at Hockenheim in early October. The talented Belgian's season will end with an outing in the Formula Renault Eurocup to refine his experience.
Eurocup Official Test 1 and 2 at Le Mans
For the return of the first test of the season Max was present at LeMans to participate at the first Eurocup test of the season. On day 1 the track was wet and greassy and the conditions were very tyricky, Max finished the morning with P8 , in the afternoon Max did a very nice time to finish the day with P1 from session 1 and 2
On Day 2 the rain from yesterday night was still present and all drivers went out very quick on wet tyres, very soon we had a few drivers directly very quick and Max was P3, the tracvk was drying and the team decided to wait and Max did not go out at the end of the session with the slicks tyres so he finished very far.
In the afternoon the track was fully dry and than the fight started to have Hubert, Aitken, Hughes,Barnicoat at the lead of the session Maw was between 3rd and 6th place. On the last set of tyre for everybody and in the last lap and minute of the day Jake Aitken, Antoine Hubert and Max Defourny maned to improve their time from the set before and only Jake Hughes staid with his previous time
Finaly the result was Aitken first, Hughes 2nd at 0,35 sec and Max finished 4th at 0,48 sec from the best time ever on LeMans, after breaking Jean Eric Vergne's record from 2009.
So Max finished at an impressive 4th overall and first Rookie at the first official Eurocup test
Max Defourny Quickest Rookie at the Renault Test at Jerez
Max has shown a very good ptential at the Rookie test in Jerez as he was quickest old old, fresh and new tyres during the morning session, again in the afternoon he was quickest on old and fresh tyres till 45 min before the end of the day. All the others went on new tyres while Max was waiting in the pit and when the team decided to get him on the track he was unlucky as he had a yellow and a red flag wich was ruining his end of the day as he could not use the new tyres. Overall Max had shown that he was always in the front of all the other rookies and thanks to ART Junior to have give him this very good car.
Again another Podium for Max Defourny at Le Castelet
Max was starting out from pole position for Race 2 at le Castelet this WE and manage to finish 3rd as he could not block the other 2 drivers in the Mistral straight as his engine was a bit down compare to Sorenssen and O Ward, this is his 4th podium of the season.
Max Defourny was arriving at Spa Francorchamps at the 8th place of the Championship after the first race in Zandvoort. He had been on the track only once before the race meeting but was very fast in the first 2 free practice finishing at the 3rd place.
Qualifying was not as good as he wanted to do as he had done only 7th and 5th, he was expecting better but a wrong setup was the cause of the results
Race 1: as he had to use the tyres from last race the car had a very bad balance but managed to finished 4th, his best result so far
Race 2: Max was starting at the 5th place but pointed directly at the 3 rd position, he was very quick and set up the fastest lap in Lap 2 closing to Esmeijer and De Pasquale, in Lap 3 he made a small mistake at Pouhon going on the outside curb and lost 1sec, Lenerz took this error to overtake him at the Kemel staight but Max did not give up and after 3 laps he manage to do a wonderful move on the outside of Bus stop to overtake Lenerz, at the exit of the chicane Lenerz tried to cross lines but spun, Max Defourny had the clear way than to his first podium of his small career in single seater.
Max Will participate next week at the first round of Italian F4.
Max Defourny has tested for the second time a FR1.6 last week in Assen and he was very quick as he did the second time over the 2 days and there were only 1 driver and Maw who broke the Pole from last year
Max Defourny has got for the first time in a Formula Renault at SPA Francorchamps this monday and tuesday, this was the first time for him in that single seater, the conditions were very difficult to start as th track was completly wet and it was raining all day. on the second day of testing Max was quite fas with a drying track but still very slippery, he made a 2'36"90 when the other like Dagosto 2'37"0, or O'Keef and Parry were doing 2'36"80. so it was very promissing. in the afternoon the rain came back and it was again very difficult for him to get the limit of the car so he took these conditions to learn more about the track, the car, and the rainy conditions.
Max Defourny has started his World championship with a very bad qualifying as he had aa engine problem. He did the 68th time wich was a nightmare for him. He started all his qualifying heats 23rd but he was very very quick in all of them coming back to 8, 3rd, 2nd before having a black flag for nothing and later the excuses from the marshals, he has done one best lap in one of the heat
after doing the 7th timle over all during qualifying yesterday Max Defourny has performed 5 very nice heats 5-2-5-2 and 3 to qualify 6th after qualifying heat behind Norris, Raspatelli, Beckmann, Mazepin and Chaimongkol.
for the semi final tomorrow Max Defourny will star 3rd in Final B behind Raspatelli, we wish him a nice reace to qualify at the best palce for the Final of the first event or the European Championship in KFJ

after have trouble in the star as he was outside he was catching back lapping 1 tenth quickest then Stroll. at the 4th map he has been pushed out by Judd as he did not break at the last corner before the pit straight and was out in the grass, after that the chassis was not the same and Max dropped places at every laps finishing 27th for his first final
i think that the officials of the WSK races have to do something for these drivers who cannot overtake in another way then pushing
also they have a big problem with miss start as driver have no signal from marshalls till almost the end of the first lap to know that the statr was not given and they can make crashes as they start fighting together.
so WSK watch out for start and driving is not pushing
A WE to Forget
report from the We in La Conca
the WE started fairly well with the 26th time in qualifying while he still had problems with the chassis, Max Defourny did the first heat on friday evening with a crash at the first corner so we did not know if we were going in the right way with the chassis PCR.
on Saturday Morning Max Defourny set tyhe 16th fastest time of the warm up and we knew we were going to improve during the heats. the second heat Max was 6th after the start and quicly went inside Russel to overtake him, unfortunatly Russel pushed him out half a lap later and max had a problem in the right front so he had to retire but was fastest on the track for the first 4 laps
in the 23rd heat Max was again pushed at the first corner but was able to continue with no damage on the chassis and in that heat he set the fastest lap time of the heat in 46"548, 2,5 tenths quicker than Russel the winner of the heat HEAT 3
in the 4th heat Max Defourny was again pushed out at the first corner and had to retire directly. so with 4 crashes in 4 heats Max was not qualify for the final.
if we look closely Max has set the 3rd fastest time on saturday in all heats on old tyres at 0,001 of the second time from Palou and 2teths from Ilott wich is very interesting for the future, it was the first race of the year and Max did not drive a lot during the winter so lets see what he will do in Sarno in 2 weeks for the second round of the WSK Master.
After a first serie of 3 days of test in La Conca at the end of last week, Max Defourny has taken his new PCR for learning and finaly mad a very reasonable time as it was very close to last year's pole position. This is a very good news for the first race next WE in Lecce and Max is very confident with his new material. More coming next week.
After the first WE of the 16th Trofeo A Senna Max Defourny arrived in Sarno with a lot of confidence. after Qualifying was not so good as Max had some problems with the chassis.
for the first Race of the WE Max Defourny took a very good start as he was 6th on the grid and was 3rd after the first corner, 2nd after the first lap. after that we started to drop as the new set up of the chassis was really bad and to much grip from the rear, so he finished 8th with a disappointing Race1
for Race 2 we wen back with the set up of last week and Max was quite confident. Max Defourny took a bad start as he has to avoid a crash at the second corner and was 10th after the first lap.
he started hi catch up to be 3rd at mid rece before he was pushed by the 4th and lost 3sec. he still had 6laps to catch the third place and he did so he even made it to second as the chassis was better and better each laps.
So with this 2nd place in race 2 Max managed to finish 2nd overall at the "Trofeo A Senna" 2011 behid Felix Nillsson and in front of Alessio Lorandi who was 3rd in qualify at the World Cup on the same track in September
Max Defourny has lead the first round of the Ayrton Senna Trofeo in Sarno this WE and finished 2 nd just behind the winner after a very long race of 16 laps
we will see Max Defourny in Sarno next WE for the second and third round of the trofeo.
Alessio Lorandi finished third at 1,5 sec behind Max .
Max had to retire before the start of the WE at lonato as he was sick and could not drive, the season will than start a bit later for him
After 2 days of testing, Max Defourny was only 7 hundredths from George Russel in Lonato, it was the first time for him that he was using the new Vega tyres. He was not used to soft tyres, so it was 2 very nice days in the fog, it was looking like LONDON... ;-)
Max Defourny was present this sunday at Montechiari for the presentation of the Official Intrepid Team and was one of the 5 drivers in KF3 including George Russell, they will be competing under the same brand "INTREPID" in WSK, Europe and World Championship.
He was in the middle of the other Intrepid drivers like, Alexander Albon and Bas Lammers (World Champions in 2010).
Max has been Chosen by Mirko because he is 1 year younger than all the others. He tested and he was very fast and consistent on the dry and wet conditions.

After a very good start of the first race of the second day of the meeting he took the lead on the second la^p till the end increasing the gap at every lap. he has done also the best lap during this race.
He than took the start of the second race on pole and in this last race on the day he was imperial taking the lead from the first corner and finishing more than 2,5sec ahead of the second, doing also the best lap.
Even with his black flag in race 2 Max Defourny has manage to finish the meeting at a very nice second place overhall
Next race for the Belgian Ch in Genk the last WE of May
for the first day of the season meeting of the Belgian Championship Max Defourny has not been very lucky as in the first race he was pushed out or the track while he was leading the race by the same as always Olivier Palmaers and lost more than 30 seconds to finish 7th. for the second race of the first day max has had a problem to start his engine on pre grid and has had the help of his mechanic, after he recovered his place on the grid wich he could not have done so he had the black flag at the end of the first lap and stopped.

for the second meeting of the Belgian Championship, the sun is back on the Belgian territory, Max Defourny is now chasing the lead of the championship and has realized the best time over the friday cessions. Qualifying are on saturday morning at 11:4à and Sunday Morning at 10:20

for the second meeting of the Asaf KF3 championship, Max Defourny has done 2 time 2nd, in the second heat he was leading the race xhen Carpena hit him at the airpin, Max Defourny has lost 4 seconds and came back to 2nd, after a few laps he overtook Carpena to take the lead for the second time untill the last lap when he was pushed a second time and finished 2nd
this was a good WE as it was the first time that Max was using the Vega Green on a hot track

For the last race of the WE Max was leading the race till the last lap when Palmaers could not overtake he pushed Max out. Max came back on the track and finished 3rd.
so he finished at the very nice 2nd place overall, he could have done at least 2 victories but we will see at the next race in Francorchamps
For the second day of the first meeting Max has taken Pole position for Race 3. Sunday is a bette day than yesterday as Max has Won his first race of the WE, weldone and lets see Race 4
Race 1 - 2
We are know arrived at the first round of the Belgium Championship in Mariembourg.
for the start of the championship Max has performed well in the first qualifying session with 2nd time at 3 hundreds from Pole. Max was very confident for the first start but he did not think that someone could throw him out in the first corner turning left to put him in the grass. Max started back in 12th position to make a very impressive come back to finish fourth. he Stated 4th on the grid of the second heat of the day and directly passed 2nd at the first break but Olivier Palmaers was already 30 meters in the lead and because of a break problem Max could not come back and finished 2nd of the second heat.

After a very long Winter, the first race of 2010 will come in two weeks in Mariembourg for the start od the Belgium Karting Championship. Max has decided to move ahead and he will drive the KF5 category (KF3 chassis and engine with 100revs down and a exhaust restrictor).
he will also participate to the Benelux championship so he will be present at the 4 races (MArch-April-May and September).
he will also participate at the ASAF series this year.
Valence Bridgestone Cup Final
Saturday, it has started by the warmup of the day and Max made a 2nd time 0,01 from best time, which was very nice before qualifying. during Qualifying Max did not found a clear lap so he made only the 5th time overall. for the first heat of the day he took a good start and finishes 3rd. second heat was a bit different as he finishes 4th, at that time he was taking the start of the semi final at third place, but as always there is a third qualifying heat and again Max was taking the start at 5th place from Qualification, the race was on the wet and max took the start at the 2nd place, he was passed very quick and has done all the race at 3rd place until the last lap where he has been passed by Latorre. the corner after he made a little mistake and spun, he finished 10th. his place was than 5th for the Semi final which was very good to be inside the first corner.
Sunday after a promising Warmup Max was ready for the last straight but the start was ok but unfortunately F Latorre has made a stupid thing and caused a crash to hit Max, ha started back very far and finished 15th.
for the final he was 8th after first lap and finished at a very nice 7th place, D Boccolacci has led all the WE and won the final easily, so congratulation Florient for this very nice VICTORY.
The Final race of the Bridgestone Cup will be held in Valence this coming WE, a possibility for Max to take his revenge on this track that he does not know. we will see how the marsters from Minime categories are taking this new race. all the favorites from the French Ch will be there . see you on Saturday for Qualifying on www.vola-racing.com

for the second test of the KF5 chassis Max was going to Mariembourg and it was only 3 days after Genk and the learning came very quick to finish the day at 3 tenth from Max Verstapen time at the Belgium Ch Race. so it is coming very fast for the learning of this new chassis.

For the second meeting of the French championship this WE in Soucy Max has changed engine tuner so we will see how it goes. After having had the first two days of testing this thursday and friday Max has set a fourth time overall after 4 heats at 9 hundreds.qualifying this saturday will be very important as it is very difficult to come back with the very small gap between the first 20 competitors

Loheac Bridgestone Cup:
Never been so close from leading the free practice Max has qualified 2 nd at 2/1000 from Pole, this is a fact that he is not as quick as the others with new tyre as it is his first complete season in the championship he still have to learn. After being second in the first 2 qualifying heats Max got a problem to start his engine in semi final but the officials gave another warming laps that gave him the opportunity to get his place back. So after some bad set up he finished 5th from the heat, yes as the team is new in france it was the first time they were handling rubber on the track with all the other series and Max was stucked out of slow corners. he than started 5th for the final with all chances to get a podium but before the end of the first lap Ch Muller hit him at he entrance of the chicane as hi tyres were not warm enough, they spon in the grass and Max pulled his chassis back on the track but the exhaust and the brakes were damaged so hi finished last.
Max is still getting a lot of informations and would be ready for the french championship in July.
congratulation to V Naud, he is definitely the favorite for the championship.

For the first semi final of the Bridgestone cup in Loheac, Max Misses Pole Position from 2/1000
Ostricourt Ligue 2/4:
Ostricourt was the second round of the Ligue Ile de France and Max was arriving there with a lot of confidence as it is one of its favorites track. the wether was really foggy on saturday and all the free practices were changing all the time. Max has set a reasonable time in the Qualifying practice to finish 5th.
arriving Sunday morning, all the warm up sessions were delayed 2 hours because of the fog. Finally the officials took the decision to start the sessions and around 11 am Max took the first start of the day. this first race was nice and Max was battling for second place when in the last corner of the race when he was coming second he crashes with P Besancenez and none of them finished that first Qualifying race. for the second one Max was a bit down in the result to 5th, coming back to third when in the same corner that in the first race and also in the last lap, four drivers crashed crossing the finish line. Max was unfortunately in this mess and finished 7th.
time now for Pre Final, with these two very bad qualifying races Max took the start at the 17th place, he then started as always to get back to the front of the race and overtook almost all of the concurrent to finish at a wonderful 2nd position what would make him starting the Final on the front row. So he took a very good start and almost made it to the first place after the first corner but he had to let V Naud in the lead, arriving at the first hairpin he was pushed at the brakes by another driver that he came out of that corner 6th. two corners after as he was too exited he made a mistake touching the curb in the inside and then he jumped and went in the grass, when he came back on the track all the other drivers were passed and he was again last. he than started to come back to the front and after 19 overtaking finished 6th at 2,5 sec away from 2nd.
so it was a little bit disappointing but i think that it was Max best WE from the beginning of the season as he made the best lap in all the heats including Pre Final and Final 1,5 tenth in front of V Naud which was again unbeatable this WE with a all shot Pole and victories in all the races.
i am certain that with one or two more races he will start to come down a bit in the qualifying races and then start to finish on the podium and be ready for the Bridgestone Cup and finally the French Championship in july, so he is still learning a lot from all the races he is doing for the moment and will be ready soon for another victory.
GPO series Angerville:
For the first round of the French KF3-KF2-KZ2 championship the GPO series invited the Minime and Cadet for the first round of the championship. all the forces of the French Minime Championship were there.
On saturday Max finished 3 overall with a very nice race on the Dry becoming wet.
On Sunday the story was different as for the pre final Max was throwing out of the track at the first corner so he started back at the last place finishing 21st. For the Final he took a very good start to finish the first lap at the 15th place, after that he overtook all his "friends" to finish 6th overall. unexpected result compare to the start of the Day.
Soucy Ligue 1/4:
for the first race of the Ligue Ile de France, Max took a good start even if he did not drive there this year as he finishes 3rd.
This race was the opening race of the season at the Angerville Circuit and he did just a bit under the first race as it was only the second time for him on the circuit. he still finished 4th.
Max Defourny started the season at Loheac, France. after a winter of testing the season just started, Max has taken this opportunity to win it as it was the Kart Mag Challenge, he did the all set with pole and victory in all the 3 qualifying heats and than Pre Final and Final.
